Combative Grappling Systems
was founded in 2001 by Casey Leonard. It would be the first martial arts
school in Westmoreland County focused soley on:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
 Submission Wrestling
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

The focus of our training is ground based, which is where many fights typically end up.
Quoting a famous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt,
"The ground is my ocean, and I am a shark where most people can not even swim."

At CGS we welcome students with no prior training, along
with advanced level and professional fighters.

The training we conduct is high intensity and high contact in nature. Our hands on approach to training quickly develops a students technique and physical conditioning. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu method of sparring allows both participants to perform techniques at 100% speed, as they would in a real world scenario.
The ability to "tap" your training partner, when they apply a submission hold, is what allows this type of sparring
to be so effective in both learning and application.

No contracts to sign, train month to month or pay as you go.

Since 2001, Combative Grappling Systems has aggressively maintained its physical approach to training.
This has helped to develop well conditioned, technical fighters who have successfully proven their abilities
in numerous tournaments and events throughout the United States and Canada.

Current and former members have fought in the UFC, Pride, KOTC, K-1, and in numerous Pay-per-views.

With instructors who offer over 10 years of military (Combat Arms) experience, we provide a
tactical sense not found in many schools with similar training programs.
This experience has created an ideal environment, for those in the military and law enforcement community,
to work with instructors who understand their specific training needs.

We have trained members from:
1st Marine Division
