Team CGS Results from GZFS Submission Only 4 Tournament

On May 22nd, 2010 Combative Grappling Systems was well represented at the Ground Zero Fighting Systems Submission Only 4 tournament in Morgantown, Wv. This was a no time limits, submission only event which tested the endurance and technique of all participants.

For CGS it went down like this...

Results from the GZFS Submission Only 4 tournament...since weight classes and some skill divisions were combined, Ive excluded them from the list.

AJ Miller- 2nd Place No-gi (junior div).
Dave Sholtes- 3rd Place No-gi.

Great job to everyone who attended. Whether you place or not in an event, you still gain alot of valuable experience, which is better than any medal. Thanks to GZFS for putting on another great tournament.

Ground Zero Fighting Systems Submission ONLY IV

CGS will be well represented on May 22nd, 2010 at the GZFS Submission Only IV tournament being held at the Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown, Wv.

The premise is simple, you only win if your opponent taps...and with no time limit matches, someone WILL eventually tap.

This format represents the essence of the sport and our team looks forward to the challenge!

Former CGS Alum to Fight in UFC 115

June 12th, 2010: Mac Danzig will be returning to the octagon once again in UFC 115. As a 2000/2001 member, Mac was truly a driving force behind the start of TEAM CGS. Looking forward to what will be a great fight.

Our Charter Membership with USA Jiu-Jitsu

At the start of 2010, Team CGS began its charter membership with USA Jiu-Jitsu (USAJJ). As a driving force with Jiu-Jitsu International to have BJJ included in the 2016 Olympics, USAJJ is doing what many other Jiu-Jitsu based organizations have not been able to accomplish. CGS members also receive discounted rates for attending USAJJ hosted events, courses, and tournaments.

USA Jiu-Jitsu is an association for Jiu-Jitsu.

All of Jiu-Jitsu…

That means schools, academies, students, competitors… any and all organizations involved with jiu-Jitsu.

If you organize competitions, sell a product, for example…Mats, Gis, t-shirts, cleaning supplies and health related products to help the athletes….then USA Jiu-Jitsu is your organization.

USA JIU JITSU is a non-profit organization founded by some of the most respected and distinguished participants in Jiu Jitsu over the past 50 years. USA JIU JITSU will govern an inclusive NATIONAL JIU JITSU community. Combative Grappling Systems will be teaming up with Pennsylvania Combat Sports.

This summer Combative Grappling Systems will be returning to Greensburg, where it all began for us in 2001. Operating out of the new Pennsylvania Combat Sports facility, at 114 E. Otterman St. is going to create some phenominal training opportunities for our members. The revised schedule will be posted soon.

The new PACS training center is over 15,000 sqft with multiple training levels that can accomodate various classes conducted at the same time. Check out their website for more info, and join us for the grand opening.
